What I’ve been up to:
If you want to get a feel for my ability, both as a teacher and as a guitarist, please have a flick through my instagram account. I regularly upload excerpts from my own practice sessions, as well as mini-lessons for those interested.
How does it work?
Lessons take place online via Discord. This software is free, and you can find more information about this in the FAQs. I am open to using other platforms (such as Skype or FaceTime) if this does not suit you.
I provide guitar tuition in the form of 30-60 minute lessons. I teach a wide variety of styles and can cater to every level. My specialities are in improvisation and jazz music.
In addition to this, I ask my students to contact me with their questions as and when they encounter them. I provide extra video content or sheet music to help in-between lessons - at no extra cost.
You will gain access to a constantly expanding repository of exercises, challenges, transcriptions and theory explanations, created by me for my students.
My aims as a tutor are two fold - to help aspiring guitarists achieve their musical goals and to inspire a genuine passion for the guitar. In my experience, students who enjoy their lessons improve the fastest - and pick the instrument up to practice!
About me:
Having first picked up the guitar at age nine, I took an early interest in an eclectic array of musical material. From jazz to fusion to punk-rock, I have studied a range of musical concepts and techniques that have shaped a unique approach to the instrument.
I achieved a 1st class honours in music performance at Falmouth University. I have six years of teaching experience - covering a wide range of styles with hundreds of hours of lessons taught. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and inspiring more people to appreciate the instrument.
I have accumulated an extensive amount of live experience being an in-demand bassist and guitarist for a number of venues and function bands, as well as directing my own projects.
