Altered Scale Usage
Here’s a short collection of lines over a minor 2-5-1 that will start to familiarise you with using the altered scale. If you are not used to this sound, it will take some time to familiarise yourself with the tension that the altered scale creates: some of these notes may sound ‘wrong’ at first.
Stick with it, the ear simply needs to adjust to the dissonance.
